My Angora Socks are coming out great. I should let you know I am being realistic about what angora can and can’t do. I don’t expect 100% angora to hold up like boot socks. I do expect them to hold up better than a shorter stapled angora would. That is why I’m giving them such a hard test. I only had a slight issue with pilling while I was knitting both socks. My hands got a bit sweaty during the second heel and I had a short bit of floaties in the air.
I have worked with plenty of angora before and had pilling to the point where, I was wearing the angora, I was knitting, before the sweater was done!!!! I’ve also had floating angora in the air constantly. I’ve not had these issues with this long stapled angora yarn. I hope to have these socks finished by next week.
Something new I wanted to try was a new recipe for making your own laundry soap. Now I’m actually pretty big into more natural cleaners and making your own cleaners, but every laundry recipe I tried left me feeling cold. It was either really watery or wouldn’t dissolve in cold water. So I tried a recipe called Mom’s Super Laundry Sauce.
I loved this recipe. I followed the directions exactly and got great results. I did my first load of laundry with it and am very happy with it. It really takes out smells better than all the fragranced stuff. I hate the fragranced stuff anyway it irritates my skin and sometimes the barn smell doesn’t even come out. It kind of looks like mayo so you may want to make sure you label it 🙂
