The Saga has finally come to an end. The crochet scarf is finished and neither the scarf or myself are worse for wear:)

I know I said that the grafting made me nervous , however I think it turned out pretty good. It’s not a thick seam.

Some more pics of different ways to wear this scarf.

I liked this pattern so much I did make it available in the shop.

Happy Crocheting!!!!!

I have been busily working on my lovely crochet scarf.  I definitely made some changes to the pattern. I was planning on more of a stole but realized even with 400+ yards that I wouldn’t have enough yarn. I actually worked through about half the ball before and realized how much yarn I was using ……Damn!!!! Back to the drawing board. I decided to use the pattern and go for more a scarf instead of a wrap/stole. So I halved the amount of starting chain stitches (44) and went with it. I noticed that my sides were shrinking……..rippp it ….start again……. count stitches carefully…… repeat 10 more times. By the time I had restarted this project around 11 times. I decided I needed another stitch pattern.

I started the new stitch pattern as it was a mutiple of 3,  I thought I would just reduce my stitches about to the correct which would be 43 stitches.  Using the new stitch pattern caused the size of the scarf to expand lengthwise it huge and I was using more yarn again. So I set to shrinking the size again. After restarting again (and again) at 36,30,24, and finally, 21 where the width was just right for a pretty summer scarf.

As I mentioned before I’m working from the middle to the end to make sure the ends of my scarf match. I’ve finished the first half and added this gorgeous edging. I’m a bit nervous about grafting the two sides together as my skills are lacking in that area. <sigh> The more I do it the better I’ll get.

I had planned a video for Friday but I didn’t plan on a 3 day weekend  internet outage. I had my net upgraded to a higher speed. I was told it would be out for maybe 3 hours instead it was out from Friday to Sunday …..so Marvelous Movie Monday was my backup plan.

A Simple Pattern with one skein of Bulky Angora, and one skein of curly Mohair Bulky yarn.  One stitch marker to mark the beginning of round. 40-47 inch size 11 circular needle. I used angora for swatch.

Using a stretchy cast on  cast on 201 stitches (or any multiple of 3 to desired length)  Mobius style. Make sure to mark beginning of round.

Rnd 1: p2, knit one through the middle bar, k1

Rnd 2: k1, sl 1 knitwise, p2, psso both purl stitches.

I started with the Angora. Then after the first two rows I alternated with the mohair yarn every 2 rows. Until I did 12 rows but you could make as narrow or wide as you like. The texture with this project is amazing.

Since my tunic tank top has been put on hold. I ran out of yarn <gasp> I need just one more skein. I found a lovely raveler who is willing to part with one. While waiting for the yarn to arrive I’ve started working another project. I thought a crochet project might be fun.

I want to create a wrap with some of my hand dyed metallic sock yarn in Serenade.  Here is a bit of the design I came up with.

I wish I could show the metallic element better. This is a gorgeous yarn these pictures definitely don’t do it justice.

Here is the shop picture.

It seems to be coming along nicely and the yarn takes well to being crocheted up and torn out. I played around with many patterns before I chose this one. I also found a gorgeous edging to put on the ends of the wrap. More to come:)
